Toronto-based singer Ebhoni Cato-O'Garro (Stack №221) returns with a new EP of Afropop-infused R&B songs on True Panther Sounds. "The island bounce and Ebhoni's dynamic delivery are infectious, a quick-fix of high energy," says Resident Advisor.

Horsegirl - Sea Life Sandwich Boy

Posted by 2 sites • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Both tracks on the upcoming 7" from Chicago trio Horsegirl have reached our index, with BrooklynVegan hearing hints of The Raincoats, The Radio Department, and Galaxie 500 in its B-side: "Spare, understated, and pretty indie rock that pulls post-punk and shoegaze/dreampop." Out in April on UK label Sonic Cathedral.

QOQEQA - QOQEQA

Posted by 2 sites • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
QOQEQA is the project of Daniel Valle-Riestra, a Latinx producer based in Peru. AXUXA, the inaugural release on Dengue Dengue Dengue's Kebrada imprint, sees the artist digging "deep into his Afro-Peruvian and Andean roots through textural electronics, low sub frequencies, and vibrant synths," says Ransom Note.

Nubiyan Twist - 24-7 (feat. Ego Ella May)

Posted by 1 site • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
On their latest effort, Leeds/London collective Nubiyan Twist traverse jazz, R&B, UK garage, and more "with lightness and dexterity," says Loud and Quiet, "weaving nine tales of personal memoir into one long call for unity." Here they connect with South London singer Ego Ella May (Stack №288).

Lael Neale - Every Star Shivers in the Dark

Posted by 4 sites • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
By pairing back her process to a 4-track tape recorder, drum machine, and Omnichord, LA-based Virginia native Lael Neale arrived at the set of intimate songs that now make up her Sub Pop debut. "Acquainted With Night sounds like modern music from a sepia-tinted past and is utterly enthralling," says Joyzine.
GOOD READ

NPR Music asked a few experts to consider the legacy of Daft Punk:

"Paris and Daft Punk developed a unique relationship with Chicago, applying chic filters, rock distortion and high-gloss mastering to the city’s unctuously loopy disco house, squealing acid and raw stripped-back jack trax."

Thanks for listening!
