Renata Zeiguer describes her full-length debut—a collection of bright, melodic indie pop—as a coming-of-age album. It arrives after a few years living in Brooklyn and performing with her former band Cantina (alongside the likes of Widowspeak and Mutual Benefit). She grew up moving between The Bronx and Buenos Aires and studied classical and jazz at the Manhattan School of Music, that work now shining through her intricate arrangements of guitar, drums, and keyboard. Even without this background, "there’s a subtlety and grace to Zeiguer’s new work that grips without any need for context," says Gold Flake Paint. The LP is out on Northern Spy Records.
