Around her shifts as a nurse in New Jersey, Lindsey Radice writes hook-heavy guitar pop songs with her project PYNKIE. Following up "one of the coolest, most infectiously charming debut LPs of 2018," per Gorilla vs. Bear, her second album, #37, builds on that playful, optimistic style while exploring heavier themes. The title refers to the football jersey number of Radice's mother's first husband, who died early in their marriage. She says her mother and older sisters often see the number and "feel like it's him looking down and protecting them. Then I started seeing it all the time too, and it just turned into this magical/meaningful number in my mind, especially during the time I was making this album." It's out on House Arrest.
