Vocalist, songwriter, and producer Melody English left Boise, Idaho for New York City in 2016, shortly after being hit by a car while jogging. The accident broke her jaw, but spurred a new chapter. She found a community of artists in Brooklyn and shifted her focus from the classical music she’d studied to more contemporary sounds and poetry. She reconnected with her cousin Dan English, a songwriter and member of Porches, who, along with co-producers Sam Glick of Test Subjects and Joey Valle of Wet, helped develop the instrumentation on this full-length debut. Released on House of Feelings, Melody traces English's journey with tender and witty songs spanning Americana, opera, orchestral pop and more.
