Columbia, Missouri's Chaz Prymek (aka Lake Mary) has composed fluttering folk soundscapes on labels such as Scissortail, Keeled Scales, and Wounded Knife. Chicago’s Matthew Sage has accrued an eclectic body of experimental studio music, including recent releases on Geographic North, Orange Milk Records, and Noumenal Loom. Lupine Deluxe, the duo’s second collaborative tape, came together much like the first: improvised in a basement. Raw and gentle Americana, invoking the free spirit of jazz and the unbusy tranquility of new age, the session finds Prymek finger-picking guitar and pumping the harmonium above keyboard phrasings and guitar by Sage, who presents the pastoral collection on his label Patient Sounds (intl).
