The first record from Julian Lynch in six years finds the Wisconsin-based artist and producer expanding and refining his soft-focus popcraft. Following a prolific run of releases from 2009 to 2013, Lynch took time to pursue a joint PhD in anthropology and ethnomusicology, returning to music in 2016 as the new guitarist in his childhood friends' band, Real Estate. With renewed confidence, Lynch presents his boldest and most lyrically focused songs to date—"their sense of lingering disappointment and unrest animated by sounds that seem to sparkle the louder they get," says Bandcamp Daily. Rat's Spit is out on Underwater Peoples.
