Honey Oat
Honey Oat
Out March 15th, 2019 Buy

Honey Oat is the Seattle/New York duo of Gabe Stout on drums and Janak JP on keys. Their self-titled debut offers swirling, effervescent duets of Wurlitzer and percussion inspired by traditional Zimbabwean Shona music. Layered above the idiosyncratic arrangements is Stout's falsetto, at times tender and others more intense, joined by rapper Maassai on "A Small Piece Of String." "It's a surprising effort full of groovy misfit jazz," says The Fader, out on Astro Nautico (L'Rain, Photay, Sam O.B.).
