Los Angeles-based duo Holy Pink make cosmic music for meditative detachment. On their debut release, songwriter and classically-trained operatic vocalist Anna Wallace and minimalist composer Tim Murray (both formerly of Orlando art-pop band Moon Jelly) present a sensory experience blooming with color. The hymns—built with vocoders, loops, and synthesizers—are inspired by concepts of dissociation and the experimental work of Laurie Anderson and "deep listening" pioneer Pauline Oliveros. It's out on Cuddle Formation's new tape label Never Content.
