Since 2016, the Brooklyn-based pairing of Nate Amos (Grandpa Bay Recordings, Opposites, This Is Lorelei) and Rachel Brown (Thanks For Coming) have recorded homespun pop music as Water From Your Eyes. The duo channel a veritable spectrum—'80s post-punk, '90s dream-pop, '00s dance-punk—into "motorik, wide-ranging soundscapes" says Gold Flake Paint, likening their hard-to-pin pace to Stereolab. All A Dance is concise and consistent in its ability to shapeshift, with Amos' adventurous instrumentation balanced by Brown's sedate monotone and melody. It arrives as the fifth installment of Exploding In Sound's tape club.
