This may be Dan Goldberg's debut studio record, but these ideas have traveled with him for quite some time and across multiple continents. A fixture in Brooklyn's music community and pioneer of the pastoral "Mountain Shows" series (once profiled in The New York Times), Goldberg treats music as both personal and shared experience, something capable of connecting us with the natural world. Composed humbly with guitar, keyboard, and field recordings, Black Hole opens up like a nonlinear journal, scoring moments of self-realization with melodies of the subconscious. Often recalling the work of John Fahey or The Microphones, the strummed and textured collection ruminates freely, breathing just as it has in house shows and along trails. The LP sees release on Fire Talk Records.
