Philadelphia trio Tall Friend make deeply personal and honest indie-pop music. The project has served as an outlet for primary songwriter Charlie Pfaff to work through childhood trauma. They consider the band's debut album "a documentation of me packing up and unboxing many, many years of hurt." In the process, surrounded by intricate guitar work, simple bass lines and soft percussion, Pfaff finds strength and solace, carving "small songs into big shapes that could change the shape of your day with one listen," says Gold Flake Paint. It's out on Exploding In Sound Records.
