Sofia Bolt is the recording project of French-born guitarist and songwriter Amélie Rousseaux. The warm-toned and lyrically honest songs on her debut album, Waves, reflect tidal changes: breaking up with her girlfriend and leaving Paris for surf life in Los Angeles. She recorded the album live with friends Van Dyke Parks, Emily Elhaj (Angel Olsen), Marian Li-Pino (La Luz), Bryant Fox (Miya Folick), and Itai Shapira (Rhye). "A dreamy union of classic French pop and West Coast psych vibes," says Gorilla vs. Bear. It sees release on Loantaka Records.
