Pillar Point surfaced in 2013 and, after some speculation, was revealed to be the project of Scott Reitherman, the creative force behind Throw Me the Statue, an indie-pop band from Seattle frequently lauded by music blogs in the late-2000s for its clever songwriting. Pillar Point, however, sees Scott converting to electronic and dance music, and exploring themes of "heartbreak, loneliness, aging and isolation in an increasingly connected world" in these new songs. The debut album, two years in the making, is finally out on February 25th but you can hear it right now.
