In Greek mythology, Phaedre is the daughter of Minos and Pasiphë. This particular Phedre, however, was conceived in a Toronto attic over three late summer nights and "numerous" bottles of cheap wine. Comprising Hooded Fang frontman Daniel Lee, bassist April Aliermo and whichever friends they've kidnapped that day for guest appearances, they're inspired as much by the original Phaedre as by the classic Nancy Sinatra/Lee Hazlewood duet "Some Velvet Morning". They decided to spend the gloomiest months of last winter in Berlin, where they wrote and recorded this follow-up to their 2012 debut.
