Nearly Oratorio is the quiet home for the solo work of Simon Lam, one half of Melbourne-based electronic pop duo Kllo and producer to artists such as Japanese Wallpaper and Jack Grace. More stripped-back and subdued than his other outlets, Nearly Oratorio reveals Lam at his most raw and vulnerable states as a songwriter. Light piano work, synth, strums, and strings underscore hidden rhythms and his hushed vocals, which detail impassioned, lovelorn, and pointed expressions. "Unease percolates through the soft edges," says Stereogum. It's out on Solitaire Recordings.
