The paths of Los Angeles-based producer and rapper YUNGMORPHEUS and Japanese composer Fumitake Tamura (aka Bun) first crossed at a Low End Theory performance in 2017. After trading files for two years, they've arrived at their first collaborative album, Mazal. Here, the mood shifts between dark, hypnotic, jazzy, and tranquil, as YUNGMORPHEUS documents the disillusionments and triumphs of everyday life. "Especially in relation to being a Black person in Amerikkka," he says, "burdened by the nature of maneuvering a social situation that was inherently built to your detriment." The LP sees releases on Matthewdavid's Leaving Records.
