“There’s no way of experiencing true love without experiencing pain,” is how Luke O’Loughlin, chief songwriter of I Know Leopard, presents the Sydney quartet’s debut full-length. As its title suggests, Love Is A Landmine navigates the varied terrain of romance with "dreamy, sundae sweet synth-pop and beamish '70s soft-rock," per Cloudberry Mornings. The band pulled the material together from three years' worth of demos, embracing live takes and vintage analog gear in the studio with Jack Moffitt of The Preatures. What culminated is a bold, quirky, and cathartic collection, out on Australian label Ivy League Records.
