The second album from Jakub Alexander (aka Heathered Pearls) sees the Brooklyn-based producer evolving from the sound heard on his beatless debut Loyal to one more inspired by the ambient and minimal techno he listened to growing up outside Detroit (where, as a kid, he had moved from communist Poland). Visually-inspired (he's also a co-conspirator with fellow artist Tycho on the blog ISO50), his ideal is "elegance in techno beyond the dark warehouse." Melbourne blog The Ripe believes he's found it: "It's a soothing blend of deep, melodic 4/4 instrumentals built for both the dance floor and the lounge-room."
