Friendship
Shock Out of Season
Out November 3rd, 2017 Buy

Centered around the plain-spoken delivery of Dan Wriggins, Philadelphia's Friendship write sweet, sad, life-affirming songs that feel like conversations. "His stories tend to be long-winded but confined to small moments," says Stereogum, "and the rest of the band play into this in an unobtrusive but all-encompassing way." On their sophomore effort, Shock Out of Season, Wriggins sings of love, loneliness, and everyday monotony, accented by ambient Americana: minimal guitar and bass, synthesizer, vibraphone, pedal steel, and Rhodes piano, with live and programmed percussion. The album is out on Orindal Records (home to Advance Base/Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Lisa/Liza, and early Julie Byrne).
