If Blue Could Be Happiness
Out September 29th, 2017 Buy

The soft-synthesizer folk of Florist observes change, friendship, trauma, and healing. The New York Times describes it as "aching, blunt, quiet... frail but determined." The band's 2016 debut took shape as songwriter Emily Sprague recovered from a severe bike accident. Their second full-length, If Blue Could Be Happiness, mourns her mother's unexpected passing. Lyrics touch on the impermanence of life with striking color and hope, gently celebrating the human experience. They recorded the album in a schoolhouse in Upstate New York, near where Sprague grew up and the band originated. It sees release on Double Double Whammy (Frankie Cosmos, Told Slant, Ó).
