Led by Brett Sova, Chicago's Axis: Sova make mutated power-punk with galloping tempos, distorted riffs, and direct hooks. Their third album, Shampoo You, find them writing, performing, and recording live to tape as a trio for the first time. Evolving "beyond the raw, bashed-out garage-rock of their early days," says Stereogum, "they’re sleeker, more melodic and a little less hazy." The record sees release on God? Records, Ty Segall’s Drag City imprint (White Fence, Wand).
