The second album from San Jose band Star 99 is sitting well with several sites in our index. Rosy Overdrive says they've "once again put together a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it (twenty-five minutes, actually shorter this time around) collection of sock-knocking-off pop songs, with [vocalists/guitarists] Calvo and Alesandro both getting to deliver knockout punches."

Lone Striker - The Cavalry

Posted by 1 site • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
"Transatlantic slacker rock" songwriter Tom Brown (Teenage Tom Petties, Rural France) shares his self-titled solo debut as Lone Striker on Safe Suburban Home Records. janglepophub hears hints of Silver Jews and Elliott Smith, noting his "propensity for the sort of additional flourishes that enable all lo-fi sounds to thrive."
GOOD MIX
Presented by Mixmag: "Bianca Oblivion returns to base with a classic hour of high-octane club and grime."
GOOD READ

For Resident Advisor, Hattie Lindert on EldiaNYC, New York's next-gen club leaders:

"The trio fall in line with a larger cultural shift towards crossover sounds—the natural output of a digital-native generation of producers who are equally tuned in to pop radio and SoundCloud rap as they are rave lineage."

Thanks for listening!
