The Serfs - Paid In Full

Posted by 6 sites • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Following their 2023 Trouble In Mind debut, Cincinnati group The Serfs return to the label with a new 7” single. Treble calls the A-side “a pulsing, Hacienda-worthy synth-pop jam.”

Genius Of Time - Rave Breaks feat. Bassie Kay (Edit)

Posted by 1 site • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Producers Dorisburg and Arkajo, aka Genius Of Time, "make some of the most soulful and blissed-out house music to ever come out of Scandinavia, the kind that makes you close your eyes and sway along, letting the sounds wash over you," says Resident Advisor. This track comes courtesy of Aniara Recordings.

The Submissives - Do You Really Love Me

Posted by 1 site • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Montreal band The Submissives just released a new LP, Live at Value Sound Studios, on Celluloid Lunch Records. Likening their sound to The Shaggs and Daniel Johnston, Add To Wantlist notes "a raw, disaffected, and almost naive quality, giving the songs a pure, captivating feel."

Dua Saleh - pussy suicide

Posted by 3 sites • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Back on Stack №215, we highlighted Sudanese-American musician Dua Saleh, who has since shared a trilogy of EPs and signed to Ghostly International for their full-length debut released last week. Featuring "a forward-thinking blend of rap, indie, and R&B," per The Vinyl Factory, guests include Ambré, Gallant (№77), serpentwithfeet (№193), and Sid Sriram. (Disclosure: Dave works with Ghostly)

WORLD BRAIN - Ville fleurie

Posted by 2 sites • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Austin Town Hall imagines the ideal setting to take in the "jazz-inflected pop" of German outfit World Brain, from a forthcoming LP on Mansions and Millions: "...walking through the city, images and buildings flash by, like the soft beats that provide you with the tempo for your walk. But, you turn a corner and your face lights up, just as you see a grand field or park, offering up a cheerful vision that matches the twist in the track."
FEATURED ALBUM

Perila and Ulla - lasting like a grass leaf

Ambient musicians and previous long-distance collaborators Perila (Stack №323) and Ulla connect in-person for Jazz Plates, out now via Paralaxe Editions. "The result is some of their most dreamily unstructured music yet, intimate and conversational," says Pitchfork.
GOOD MIX
Here's an aptly-named "silence mix" from Perila and Ulla for Lisbon-based community radio station, Rádio Quântica.
GOOD READ

For the newly-launched Hearing Things, Julianne Escobedo Shepherd tells the history of Red Hot, the pioneering social change organization, in 8 songs:

"It is hard to capture how groundbreaking this was at the time, when homophobia was rampant in culture and government, and AIDS was still spoken about in the media with hushed, otherizing tones."

Thanks for listening!
