Luna Li - Confusion Song

Posted by 1 site • On SoundCloud • Also on: Spotify
Los Angeles-based musician Hannah Bussiere Kim, aka Luna Li (Stack №339), returns with a new LP in August. BrooklynVegan calls the lead single a "glistening alt-pop track." Li adds, "It's the stream of consciousness that my mind went through following a break-up."

Snooper - Company Car

Posted by 8 sites • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Nashville's Snõõper (Stack №417) have a new split EP with Barcelona band Prison Affair out now via Under The Gun/Sorry State/Big Love. Stereogum says the connection makes sense: "They both play super-fast, come up with playful new-wave hooks, mess around with keyboards, and love to record themselves at ultra-grimy levels of fidelity, with tape hiss threatening to drown everything out."

Nicoba - Encuentros en el Fin del Mundo

Posted by 1 site • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Here's another great split release: for Irish label Lacuna, Chilean producer Nicoba and Peruvian producer Latinchat offer contrasting takes on reggaeton. "Latinchat's dense latticework is prime for the restless energy of today's clubs, while Nicoba's use of space nudges guaracha into deeper, trancier territory," says Resident Advisor.

raveena - Junebug (feat. JPEGMAFIA)

Posted by 1 site • On SoundCloud • Also on: Spotify
"There's something enchanting when two oppositional forces become entwined," notes Clash Magazine, pointing to this high profile collab that "matches the overt beauty of Raveena's opaque R&B constructions with a feature from rap extrovert JPEGMAFIA (Stack №242)."

Midwife - Killdozer

Posted by 2 sites • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Over the years, Colorado's Madeline Johnston, aka Midwife (Stack №274), has refined her drone pop craft, self-dubbed "heaven metal." Destroy//Exist says the lead to her new album "entices feelings of gloom and existentialist melancholy with its melodic and wistful expression."
FEATURED ALBUM

Marina Allen - Swinging Doors

Posted by 3 sites • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Eight Pointed Star, the latest LP from Marina Allen (Stack №446), is out now on Fire Records. Per Pitchfork,"The Los Angeles singer-songwriter's vivid and knotty lyrics evoke half-imagined landscapes with startling clarity."
GOOD MIX
Bogotá-born, Berlin-via-Miami artist Bitter Babe delivers a mix for Resident Advisor highlighting under-the-radar acts from Peru, Brazil, and beyond: "Starting with subby downtempo before moving onto swampy baile funk, technoid mutations of dembow and cheeky UKG, it showcases her expertise for trippy yet deeply kinetic grooves."
GOOD READ

For Stereogum, Zach Schonfeld breaks down the curious case of the underselling arena tours.

"As ever, the capitalist dream of unending growth bumps up against reality."

Thanks for listening!
