EP. Pigeons & Planes
calls the title track "subdued funk [paired with] glistening dance production."
Brooklyn-based Phantom Posse member Nadia Hulett stepped out with an EP of her own just before SXSW (and a performance with ILoveMakonnen at the Portals
farm). Vocals are in control of standout "Really You Got This" which Heart & Soul
In celebration of Piano Day, German contemporary composer Nils Frahm gave away surprise album Solo
. His "characteristic mastery of space" is on display here, balancing "epic grandeur with intimate charm," says All Around Sound
Songwriter Gabrielle Smith (founder of art collective The Epoch, sometimes plays with Frankie Cosmos) builds out some of her previously bandcamp-ed material for a release with Double Double Whammy. Stereogum
especially digs this slow building single.
Having done time on the French House scene at the start of the decade, Parisian producer Darius refines his feel-good sound and really hits his stride. Here, he teams up with Berlin-based vocalist Wayne Snow for the title track from forthcoming EP, Helios.
Two album premieres this week: A Energy Will Rise by Baltimore ensemble Soft Cat, and Verde, the new EP from Brooklyn-via-Buenos Aires artist Tei Shi.
