HINDS - Davey Crockett (Thee Headcoats COVER)

Hype Hotel's Thursday night curator Gorilla Vs. Bear rightfully presents the latest from Madrid 4-piece Hinds (fka DEERS): a "perfectly ramshackle, very true-to-the-original rendition of Thee Headcoats classic 'Davey Crockett (Gabba Hey!)'."

Kero Kero Bonito - Picture This +1 remix

London pop trio Kero Kero Bonito are also headed to Austin, marking the band's first-ever US live shows. Their effervescent new single describes "the exact moment that someone gets the itch to take a selfie" (DIY).

Shura - 2Shy +1 remix

Rising dance-pop act Shura, who hails from the UK (by way of Moscow), offers up "her first love jam of 2k15" says Disco Naïveté. She plays Wednesday afternoon as part of the YVYNYL and Turntable Kitchen showcase at Hype Hotel.

Chastity Belt - Joke

Seattle quartet Chastity Belt do not lack a sense of humor (for proof, check some of their promo pics) but new track "Joke" makes clear that their forthcoming second LP is anything but. On Thursday, they'll be tearing up the Hype Hotel stage along with Hinds.

GFOTY & Spinee - Dog Food Mix 1

The PC Music label is dropping a lot of new music ahead of their collective arrival at SXSW next week, including this bonkers 8-minute jam from "two of PC's most interesting characters" (Faded Arrow) and Hype Hotel DJs, Girlfriend of The Year & Spinee.
FEATURED ALBUM

This week's premiere is Sir Vices from London-based psych-pop group Charles Howl.

As for interesting reads, try this one on the dynamic between sad songs and the pop charts.

Thanks for listening!
