Having worked with J Dilla, Erykah Badu, and (more recently) Common, drummer and producer Karriem Riggins knows his way around a beat. His most recent offering, a laid-back one-off, was tweeted out by Stones Throw who alluded to a full-length in 2017.

Persona La Ave & Baraka - Believe

The new LP from this Knoxville, Tennesee producer-player duo (out on Brooklyn's Astro Nautico) presents an exciting fusion. The synth funk of Persona La Ave and the jazz instrumentalism of Baraka: one "futuristic slice of ice cold ambience," via THUMP.

London's On The Corner Records is at the forefront of the new wave of African-inspired electronic music. The label's collaborative spirit is best exemplified here on this roster-spanning track, "more a narrative than a remix," they say.

Familiar Touch, the sophomore album from Toronto pop trio DIANA.
Esteemed German producer Lorenz Brunner aka Recondite takes on BBC's Essential Mix.

To go along with the track above from On The Corner Records, here's a profile with the label's founder courtesy of Ransom Note:

"I honestly don’t think there’s anybody else doing quite what we are… matching the modal jazz with young electronic producers that are hungry for those stems."

Thanks for listening!
