RCRDLBL describes the music of NYC based artist Boshra al Saadi, AKA SAADI by writing, "There's something beautifully unsettling about the music Syrian-born rocker-turned-synth-queen SAADI makes. Sure, it's jaunty, canorous, and massively danceable. But it's also composed of broken-down doll melodies, tainted by screwy pops and wormy schizophrenia. It's weird. It's different. We dig it." Hailing from Pennsylvania and settling in NYC in her late teens to conquer her folk star dreams, SAADI's distinctive sound is a result of a broad array of influences from traditional arab music to dancehall from Lady Saw to Brian Eno.
Released last summer the mixtape, "Summer of SAADI," featured 12 songs which included original tracks, collaborations and reimagined versions of her personal dancehall favorites.
