Los Angeles musician and She Shreds founder Fabi Reyna releases the full-length debut for her Reyna Tropical project. BrooklynVegan says the album incorporates styles from all over the Southern hemisphere, blending "loop-based grooves with Fabi's textural guitarwork and lush, breathy harmonies."

Dublin singer-songwriter Rachael Lavelle has seen a swell of support throughout the year for her late 2023 LP, Big Dreams. Tagging Lavelle as One to Watch, The Guardian says the album is "disarming and layered...slow-burning art-pop that is at once inventive and soothing."

Ekko Astral - devorah

Posted by 1 site • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Out this week via Topshelf Records, the debut LP from Washington, D.C.'s Ekko Astral finds the band expanding on their "scrappy glam-tinged punk rock," says Rosy Overdrive, calling it "a full-on assault of heavy fuzz-punk."

Mk.gee - New Low

Posted by 1 site • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
Last heard here working on Dijon's (Stack №353) 2021 breakthrough, LA-based artist and producer Mike Gordon, aka Mk.gee, is gaining steam with his solo debut LP out now. Stereogum says the sound "exists in a similar space [to Dijon], refracting faded memories of the '80s in a fractured, sun-bleached style that weaves together forward-thinking work from the likes of Jai Paul and Bon Iver."
FEATURED ALBUM

hoyah - 5109 The Warp (feat Isaiah Hull)

Posted by 1 site • On Bandcamp • Also on: Spotify
To record Set + Setting, Shmuel Hatchwell's new album under the alias hoyah, the Berlin-based producer embraced limitations—no beats, saxophone samples as voice—for a "cohesive yet experimental sound," per KALTBLUT Magazine. It's out on BRUKE Records.
GOOD MIX
Here's a 3-hour ambient mix from UK producer James Holden recorded live at a silent party hosted by Speckle in London.
GOOD READ

For The Creative Independent, Brandon Stosuy talks to The Needle Drop's Anthony Fantano about finding your format:

"I’m always looking for something new, something different, something surprising, something that’s going to challenge me, something that’s going to make me think of sound and music in a different way."

Thanks for listening!
