And that’s why Lazy Queen will be launching their next single “Option To Nothing” via video chat services Omegle and ChatRoulette on Wednesday 16th November. From 7pm CET on either chat service, Lazy Queen will unleash the fast-paced, attitude-laden new banger to an unsuspecting global audience in the hours leading up to its release on DSPs. Those who are lucky enough to land in Lazy Queen’s chat will be instantly transported into the LQ universe, filled with colourful lights, flashing projections, masked dancers and Lazy Queen’s signature live energy. This is set to be a highly personal guerilla performance in a digital space where there’s an air of intimacy in performing directly to an individual's screen - it is a unique connection through art between strangers on opposite sides of the world. In addition, the Lazy Queen Social Club (LQ’s closest circle of fans) will be invited into a separate video chat to take part in the experience as a direct band to fan DIY community experience. The performances and people’s instant reactions will be recorded and edited into a music video for release in the days after the single release. Talking about the launch in more detail, Henrik García Søberg explains: “A central drive of Lazy Queen has always been to make a genuine connection with people through the music and thematics of the band, and to build a community. The very personal connection with strangers through art was the most appealing to me as a fan, and stays the same as a creator. And even though we were still making and releasing music during the lockdowns, we realised there was this void that we needed to fill - something was missing from the experience. We didn’t realise this void even existed because it was never a question to not tour or play live. And with the live industry still being a bit of a mess post-pandemic, we thought that we could either sit around and wait for everything to stabilise and wait for the opportunity to tour different countries, or we could go out and search for ad create these much-needed connections in our own way.” Henrik continues, speaking about the inspiration behind Option For Nothing:: "This track is meant to be a straight kick in the teeth. We've always been drawn to contrasts and contradictions, like pairing dark lyrics with bright melodies, but sometimes, just sometimes, you gotta pair despair with despair. The song is a reminder that it could always get worse. And it will.” Following on from their successful showcase weekend at by:Larm in their Oslo hometown in September, Lazy Queen are also thrilled to announce news of the follow-up to “A Human Reaction” EP. Continuing their fruitful partnership with Icons Creating Evil Art, Lazy Queen will release their new EP “Growing Pains” on Friday 17th March 2023. Offering some insight into how the new EP came to fruition, Henrik explains: “There have been a lot of significant life changes in the time since we wrote and released “A Human Reaction” earlier this year, and I’ve had to really think about who I am and what I wanted from my music and the band, and that whole process started as we began piecing Growing Pains together.
