Quiche

Been thinkin ‘bout how we process pain
Sometimes the only way to digest
Is to blame with confident rage
Gonna have dig a little deeper then taking a picture
Of me poppin’ champagne
Put it in a popular frame
Healing works in the opposite way
I spent my youth
Thinkin if I didn’t make 100 million dollars
Then there’s no use
Deja vu
Hop on the internet every other hour
Just to find no proof
Of my value
Maybe I should look somewhere else
Find more knowledge of the self
Realign what I define as wealth
See my life for the miracle it is

I came for a laugh
I came for peace
I came for truth

They came for the cash
They came for the quiche
They came for the loot

I stayed for love
I stayed for y’all
I stayed for you

Let’s map the truth
Let’s journey through
Let’s find the root

I believe the poetry will lead me to the light
Stay the course, endure the storm
Prove your value in a fight
Scarred flesh, in need of rest
Come out the other side
The hero of my own life

Just want a house in the woods
Just want a wife and kids
Need to get away from the buzz
Need to purify how I live
A pocket full of chaos and a bottle full of gin
Hennessey and mescaline
Dry out like my Bedouin brethren
Feel better then ever when
I clean up my act and try to stick with it
Been a mess the past few years i admit it
I teeter between being a cynic
And being the light that shines, God given
A product of the times I live in
Maybe I should move somewhere else
Find more knowledge of the self
