Melbourne power duo Au Dré are back with their new single 'Wanna Know' off their forthcoming debut self titled EP. Following on from debut single 'Fool Me' and the reflective 'Climax, 'Wanna Know' is a absolute party with throwbacks to 80's disco and synth pop but with sophisticated and powerful Trumpet from multitalented front woman and trumpeter Audrey Powne.
The influence of local bands producer /keyboardist JamBau (James Bowers) plays with including The Vaudeville Smash and Sex on Toast is obvious in the tunes funk synth lead line and arrangement but 'Wanna Know' is not an 80's parody. The lyrical content is about a woman demanding satisfaction without commitment from her casual romance tap into the feelings of twenty something women navigating their way through today's hook up, 'no shame in the flame' culture.
Au Dré will launch their debut EP at the Gasometer Hotel on May 13th in a dual launch show with long time collaborator Nicholas Lam a.k.a. DXHeaven who mixed this single.
