Track of the Day: LUM "Urpillay"

LUM isn’t your typical electronic artist. Discovered by the mysterious guru Damian Lazarus during a scout for local talent for his Day Zero festival, LUM was found to represent the sound of the ancient Mayan culture. He was born in Argentina, is based in Riviera Maya in Tulum, Mexico, and has spent his life steeped in indigenous cultures.

LUM’s sound is ingrained in the jungle, as he conducts his botanical research the same way he has been researching indigenous music. He’s prepared an EP for the Crosstown Rebels offshoot imprint Rebellion, and it is a mystical journey through space and time.
