Mattwizard - Purple Doves

Taking nods from the jazzy purple side of grime and bass music, Mattwizard goes full throttle with funky instrumentation and smashing beats on his debut album. A heavy influence of 90s sounds and culture combined with an intergalactic mindset, equal some really out there music - but always held together with a prominent grime influence. Phone Home is Mattwizard’s first full length release and the collection represents a cohesive and yet varied journey through this enthusiastic young producer’s output.

We dropped the first single from the album, “Tapanga Kapowski,” in May and it received accolades from FACT, Walmer Convenience and Complex UK among others.

Portsmouth UK’s Mattwizard has a sound that can be described as Herbie Hancock doing acid on Mars. And we’re all perfectly fine with that. He has released music on Mr. Mitch’s Gobstopper Records, Boxed, Once Upon A Grime, Logan Sama’s Keepin It Grimy and is currently working on a collab release with producer Darkness.
