Naïm Amor, French born songwriter and composer, is based in Tucson, Arizona, and emphasizes a worldly finesse in his new album Hear The Walls. Exploring a strong sense of tradition with an innovative approach, this album focuses on the landscape of guitar, string ensemble and vocals, and is an album for the ardent music listener – as he puts it “When you turn the music off, you can hear the walls-the sound of one specific place, it’s nude ambiance that makes it so unique. This album fits the moment and the place when you decide to finally turn the music on again…and listen.”
Hear the Walls is a collection of original songs recorded in both French and English, that focus and utilize the sounds and dynamic tones of Naïm’s large guitar collection. Recorded directly onto tape, the core of the songs were all recorded live with accompanying upright bass (played by Thøger Lund of Giant Sand), in a set up that defined the process for recording. By using only one amp and no effects, Naïm was able to capture and create an extensive breadth of tone, with layers of strings and vocals that add a feeling of space. Recorded at Waterworks Studios, the album was mixed and produced by Jim Waters (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, RL Burnside, Sonic Youth) and Naïm Amor.
Naïm has recorded with many notable artists such as Joey Burns (Calexico) and John Parish (PJ Harvey) and this latest album emphasizes his clear ability to deliver a graceful sonic blanket on which to lay.
Previous Press Accolades for Naïm Amor:

"A gorgeous album that recalls Paris in the evening rain and first love, 'Dansons' is not to be missed." ~ Penny Black Music
"'Exsanguine' is a stellar avant-pop collection imbued with savoir faire." ~ Westword
"A chameleon of a musician who's active in myriad projects, Amor is intriguing when he takes the reins as a songwriter." ~ Tucson Weekly
