Hawker M. James is the solo project of Mike James, a multi-instrumentalist and producer based in Rochester, NY. Formerly the drummer of early aughts indie rock outfit Longwave, James' eclectic career winds and builds towards the current collection of post-punk rooted pop, two jams co-produced by friend and collaborator Joel Ford, in a whirlwind session from late ’13.
James has led and fronted several solo-driven acts before and after Longwave, including The Mercies, Mikey Jukebox, and of most recent, Admirers — all of which have charted on indie charts and had songs featured on hit TV shows including Gossip Girl, New Girl, Ben & Kate, Up All Night, The Lying Game and the film The Secret Lives of Dorks.
James also plays drums in and produces The Demos.
