Parisian imprint, Her Majesty’s Ship looks to its next release featuring the undeniable talents of Berlin based duo The Rimshooters and the ever-excellent Snax...
The Rimshooters are Massimiliano Pagliara and DJ Rotciv, a pair who have been making waves with their releases on labels such as Slow Motion and Cosmic Club over the past couple of years. The duo first met through a social network site in 2010 and despite a huge geographical distance, Pagliara based in Berlin and Rotciv in Brazil, the pair began making music together. Now just two years on they are both residing in Europe’s electronic music capital, making music that is opening people’s minds.
Snax originally hails from Washington D.C but has wound his musical path via San Francisco and New York to end up in Berlin. He has been behind hits such as ‘$100’, ‘Honeymoon’s Over’ and ‘Get in Trouble’, recorded for numerous leading labels and collaborated and toured with artists such as Jamie Lidell, The Scissor Sisters and Peaches to name just a few.
‘Pledge Allegiance’ came about from a jam session at Pagliara’s studio, emanating first as a melancholy pop tune before being reshaped and reworked into an infectious disco tinged workout. Snax’s vocals and incredible Prophet 5 synth solo fuse seamlessly with the rich production of the Rimshooters and the end result is a track is a stone cold killer!
The original mix is complimented with two alternative versions, the ‘Rimshooters acid dub’ that see the duo break out some Chicago inspired drums and acidic top lines and the ‘Box Office Poison house dub’ that has Snax working under his new house production moniker to deliver a wonderfully spacious and unique sounding mix.
Her Majesty’s Ship is a new label on the scene but following up the recent David Shaw and the Beat album with this stunning single, it’s clear they have got their sites on big things.
Seems a little quiet over here
