Wake up to the day, get out of your own way
When you open your eyes, acknowledge the strain, seize the day anyway
Sunlight lifts you out of malaise but still deep in your thoughts astray
Make music to words that may not be heard but worth it to play all the same
I didn’t wake up just to pass the time of day
I didn’t wake up just to waste this day away
Make time, gotta make time, life’s short, in the blink of an eye
Make time, gotta make time, write now, write it down, play it up, bring it round
The typewriter aches, and the guitar insists in an encouraging way
Reflect on hooks that swirl and urge you on to the latest refrain
Turn the tables, spin the tales, aware of the details of your own decay
Make up your mind, you're not gonna waste another day in a haze, out of place
I didn’t wake up just to pass the time of day
I didn’t wake up just to waste this day away
Make time, gotta make time, life’s short, in the blink of an eye
Make time, gotta make time, aim high, say it wise, as many times, as many tries,
Make time, gotta make time, life’s short, in the blink of an eye
Make time, gotta make time, write now, write it down, play it up, bring it round
Ya gotta make time

Words and music: Steve Monteith
Jupiter Motel is the Vancouver-based side project of guitarist Steve Monteith from Star Collector. Featuring Tony Kerr (bass) and Adrian Buckley (drums).
Been looking forward to this album, on the strength of the single "Feel It Comin' On", released some weeks ago.
I have all the Star Collector albums now and this one contains some heavier tracks than previously. For me, that's a good thing! On first listen the standout tracks are the aforementioned single, "Feel It Comin' On", davidhuggy7
Anyone who says rock is dead hasn't listened to Star Collector. They wear their influences on their sleeves without sounding like a retro act. They are just a new branch on the tree of rock. Do your ears a favor and pick up one or two or all of their albums. WSCM
Track 1 hooked me out of the gate, and it's an 11-way tie for 2nd-favourite. The lyrics, instrumentation, arrangement, dynamics, performance and production are excellent throughout.
Others have used the word "fresh" to describe Tamar's music, and I agree. I'm never sure what will happen next and that's what makes it so exciting! tommcnally
Dreamy, intricate guitar pop from Oakland's Absent City; splashes of accordion, sitar, lap steel, and mandolin add textural richness. Bandcamp... New & Notable Oct 26, 2020
Another fantastic release from Tamar Berk. Following hot on heels of “tiny injuries” another fantastic album. Two things come to mind.
The joy of following a young growing artist & the pure joy of taking a musical ride with Tamar at the wheel. I feel so lucky riding shotgun that l’m not using my seatbelt. Come along for the joy ride. You will not regret it. Good Times for a Change is finally here. Come along for the ride. Hitchhikers welcome. boysie825
