The Bats were my first love among New Zealand bands, starting way back in 1987 with their Daddy's Highway album. Still love 'em (excited that they're touring the US in June 2013!). As with the Snapper EP, I didn't know about this one till Flying Nun rereleased it this year. So cool to hear the band in this 1984 recording so young, intent, and freshly in love with making music together.
