I’m on my knees, I’m begging me: don’t make a scene, keep moving. A million weeds around my feet like green concrete confusion.
Weigh down on me. I’ve been wanting when I should need. Weigh down on me. I’ve been walking when I should leap.
I’m pulling teeth til my mouth bleeds. No need to speak, it’s useless. Concern machine stuck on repeat. Complacency or clueless?
Weigh down on me. I’ve been wanting when I should need. Weigh down on me. I’ve been walking when I should leap.
So weigh down on me cuz I just can’t believe all the things you spout without knowing about what they even mean. So weigh down on me, give me sweet relief from every single thought that somehow got past my own teeth.
Weigh down on me. I’ve been wanting when I should need. Weigh down on me. I’ve been walking when I should leap.

I'd never heard of these guys before I saw them open for The Decemberists in Atlanta this past weekend, but I was hooked from those first driving notes of "Making Noise..." and by the time they were three songs in, I weirdly had one foot in 1993 again with the other squarely here in 2024. This album is everything you want it to be, with some bonuses. Hard to pick an actual favorite track, but "The Window" does make me choke up a little bit, and "It's Alive!" is a consistent earworm.
