Born in Tokyo and raised in Sapporo,Moskitoo is a sound artist and singer.
In 2007,she released her debut album
"Drape" on New York's 12k, founded by Taylor Dupree. She creates unique soundscapes using a variety of non-musical objects and musical instruments, such as guitars, glockenspiel, and toys, producing a style where electronic sounds blend with the harmonic layers of her voice.

This is a welcome return! I still hold those feather-light, fragmented, floating sounds Sawako put out in the aughties in high esteem. The style on Stella Epoca is very recognizable, a continuation of what came before. Music for lazy summer afternoons. And for many other seasons and times of day. Lovely!

What a gorgeous album. I can tell from first listen that I’ll be returning to this regularly, like drawing from a well, for years to come. It’s really something new and different from 12k as well as all the individual artists involved. They come together with such humility and sensitivity of listening to build together these beautiful, involving and rich sound landscapes over the 9 tracks.
