seesaw, no i couldn't hold time
even if i could would you speak soft?
my calluses dont grow on my skin
will i find my way out?
will i find my way out?
will i find my way out?
life is a gun
feel like i stayed too late
and you left too young
seesaw, no i can't confide here down on my knees
but i recall, something you said back in february
there was something we're all workin for
there was something we're all workin for
there was something we're all workin for
it doesn't matter now
belly up in the water i'm cursing out the clouds
there are things we can't explain that we must do
and that explained blood more than i ever knew
he captured every single color in hue
yeah that was a brother the entire way through
that was my brother almost a quarter century
and i failed him when i said hold on to me
life is gun, now i know what you mean
if we can't get off the ride are we really free?
in the seesaw i saw a balance in me
now the balance is gone i dont know what i see

I'd never heard of these guys before I saw them open for The Decemberists in Atlanta this past weekend, but I was hooked from those first driving notes of "Making Noise..." and by the time they were three songs in, I weirdly had one foot in 1993 again with the other squarely here in 2024. This album is everything you want it to be, with some bonuses. Hard to pick an actual favorite track, but "The Window" does make me choke up a little bit, and "It's Alive!" is a consistent earworm.
