This eponymous composition consists of the literal playback of sounds from old-growth forest into 'disturbed' forests. In this juxtaposition of aural
architectures across different forest histories, these sounds are spatially removed, re-amplified and recorded within the soundscape of these
contrasting spaces. The resulting recordings are a speculation on emergent ecological assemblages and the dynamics of their soundscapes. This composition was inspired by recent research where
sounds of a healthy coral reef were projected into a degraded reef ecosystem; researchers found that the sounds facilitated restoration by attracting species that normally are limited to healthy reefs.
