Ay oop a proper tune from Septegenarian Peter Gabriel, revisiting concepts around since the time of the Lamb. Musically covering all the decade bases whilst remaining pure Gabriel, i think i detect a little Love (Alone again or) or Procol Harum. Look forward to other mixes light and dark, and concert in June. 20 years, who cares, I know what I like. Think Peter might like Verbal Delirium, next up too. Excellent Mr Gabriel.

Panopticom is the first track to be released from the forthcoming album i/o. This is the Bright-Side Mix, by Mark 'Spike' Stent.
‘The first song is based on an idea I have been working on to initiate the creation of an infinitely expandable accessible data globe: The Panopticom. We are beginning to connect a like-minded group of people who might be able to bring this to life, to allow the world to see itself better and understand more of what’s really going on.’ -pg
Musically Panopticom drives along powered by the engine-room of long-time collaborators Tony Levin, David Rhodes and Manu Katché, underpinned by haunting electronics from Brian Eno. Additional backing vocals from Ríoghnach Connolly of The Breath. The lyric is, in part, inspired by the extraordinary work of three groups, Forensic Architecture, Bellingcat and the Gabriel co-founded pioneering human rights organisation WITNESS.

Live at WOMAD 1982

I attended this festival and it introduced me to great music coming from places other than Europe and North America. Unlike any other festival I'd been to before. Subsequent WOMADs have continued that education. As such the 1982 festival will always be the most important one I've ever attended. I can now not just rely on my memory to remind me how good it was.

A Light for Attracting Attention
