Initially titled ‘REDREDREDRED’ because of the levels of distortion in the original one-take instrumental, The Seed is the second single from Maelstrom and Louisahhh’s forthcoming debut LP, Sustained Resistance.
An origin story dealing with not only creation, but also destruction: a legacy of trauma and survival, The Seed wraps complex themes in pumping, dynamic noise and double-time clacking reminiscent of teeth, fingernails or insects. The gated roars tailing each vocal meet the intensity of the message with harsh grace and gritty joy. ‘When I say stop, begin again!’ the song commands dance floors that no doubt eagerly await this hectic sonic storm from two of the scene’s most delighted upsetters.
lyrics
It’s a little a violent
I hope that you like it
You wanted to hear my song for you
These words like swords they shine for you
They say the truth can sting a bit
I built a life to exploit it
I see the seed
I see the root
I see the wound
I’m coming to
If it hurts
I know it’s true
If i could
I’d feel for you
The willingness comes from the pain
Must i dive in again
must i dig down deep within
When i say stop: begin again:
I see the seed
I see the root
I see the wound
I’m coming to
If it hurts
I know it’s true
If i could
I’d feel for you

Fans of Fire-Toolz, take note! The brutal new LP from STCLVR occupies the same sonic territory, with harsh electronics & pummeling beats. Ba...ndcamp New & Notable Oct 17, 2020
Huge's vocals are paradoxes: they can be flat and melodic, cold and moving. The music has that quality as well: the hooks are those you heard from Kraftwerk and many dancey bands throughout your life, yet here sound fresh, renewed, even neonate. I find myself singing "Some Ghost" several times a week. felipe_serra
