lyrics
There’s a full moon rising
That casts a cold light in your eyes
Like a silver beacon hanging over the horizon
Travelling on the path of
A solitary satellite
That lies above the line of sea and sky colliding
Chilly in the evening
Turns to frost-bite overnight
And at the break of dawn, a stifled yawn while you’re still sleeping
And the room is still and silent
A heavy blanket holding tight
As I watch the early specks of sunlight slowly creep in
All the knots I tied unwinding
Every puzzle piece aligning
Laying in the early morning light
Another waking dream recurring
Where I can’t stop the time from turning
And the moon is rising
And the sky is powder blue
Satellite keeps climbing
A clear signal coming through
All the knots I tied unwinding
Every puzzle piece aligning
Laying in the early morning light
Another waking dream recurring
Where I can’t stop the time from turning
And the moon is rising
And the sky is powder blue
Satellite keeps climbing
A clear signal coming through
EZTV were a band we felt very inspired by, and we've frequently used their music as a point of reference when writing/arranging our own. Glad to see Ezra T keeping it going with this great new album! Mt. Misery
Remember how Bill Murray woke up to I Got You Babe every day in Groundhog Day? If that song would have been Made Of Moods, he at the very least experienced three and a half perfect minutes each day. It’s one of those songs that I enjoy each and every second of, with it’s jangly guitars and hushed vocals that almost have a Beach Boys vibe, especially in the verse. Truly, it’s a song for the ages. But the best news about Still Life is that it offers eleven additional underground pop gems. Niek || Add To Wantlist
The Reds, Pinks & Purples invoke a very particular moment of the post-C86/Sarah Records outpost of “college rock” before grunge became the de facto form of “alt rock”. This is pop music like they don’t really make it anymore: Catchy, gloomy, literate, jangly, artsy, occasionally frivolous… like some half-remembered video from the Dave Kendall-era of 120 Minutes. Released in 2001, “The Convincer” is a gentle gem in the Nick Lowe catalog; an anniversary edition provides opportunity for rediscovery. Bandca...mp New & Notable Sep 20, 2021
