Fusing improvisation, modern jazz and classical influences; Search for Stillness draws from personal experience to create an ornate piece that develops as you listen. Incorporating an unconventional string quartet, alto saxophone and piano, this was written in a through-composed fashion, interwoven with spaces left for soloists. Composed in mid-2019, this stripped-back version explores light and dark landscapes, lush harmonies and vulnerable space.
