Throes + The Shine were born 2011 in my hometown Porto. A communion between Portugal and Angola, they are characterized by a hybrid of Kuduro, electronic sounds and rock ferocity. Their stage presence is contagious. Three records later and with hundreds of shows in over ten countries, they're one of our biggest music exports and rightfully so. Their tours go from Europe to Brazil and they've played festivals such as Festival Iminente, Festival Med, Dour Festival, Roskilde Festival, Lowlands Festival, Rock en Seine among many others.
I witnessed this in person when we all played at ESNS and they showcased one of best sets at the festival and how (pre-covid) live music can be such a amazing force for comunal gatherings and sweating... yeah, lots of dancing and sweating as only the best of times demand!
