while quarantined in Berlin, we took the time to re-listen to some of our favorite 90s records: Veruca Salt, Belly, Sleater-Kinney, The Breeders, you get the idea. One night, Laura Lee sat down at her kitchen table and tried to make an acoustic version of "Divine Hammer". Communicating with Connor via Email, the two decided to take a break from their current recording sessions (yes! new Jettes songs are in the making too) and fill out the blanks in Lee's demo: Connor added his love for production techniques of songs such as "Modern Girl" by Sleater-Kinney and added a humming bassline and a general arrangement to the song that makes it get bigger every verse, while still keeping it a bedroom demo, 'cause that's what it is. more soon xxx Jettes
