An excellent release that significantly improved from their previous albums. Blood Incantation's Hidden History of the Human Race sounds like Covenant-era Morbid Angel, Death, Brutality, Afterbirth, Lykathea Aflame, Atheist, and Cynic had a child. I really enjoy Blood Incantation's lyrical themes, while their name would make one presume they're about the occult or played-out satanic crap, they take a deep dive into the unknown of the cosmos and extraterrestrial beings. Excellent work!

Stare Into Death And Be Still

What I like the most about this album is that it seems to be more riff-oriented and memorable compared to their earlier albums which were chock-full of crazy dissonant riffage but their songs often meandered or lacked any distinct progression. That is not to say that this this album is any less dense, but is certainly a little catchier, here and there. As always with Ulcerate, their music rewards repeated listening while clearly retaining the tragic, emotional feeling the band is known for.

An album that I heard all too late, but one that has massively shaped my recent music taste, and with the bands split, it has opened me up to two amazing bands in the last year. Big fan of all of Patriakh's work, and Batushka aswell, but this is still the best album of the bunch, where it all started!
